Client Profiles

InterAction clients are typically between the age of 40 and 55 years old. They are financially savvy, but they might find themselves burdened with debt. They earn a good living, yet they might find themselves living paycheck to paycheck.

They face complex financial choices, which are often complicated because they are in the “sandwich generation”, with responsibility for their children and aging parents. These dependents become our “secondary” clients. We take a multi-generational approach to family financial planning, and there is a wider range of challenges and opportunities as a result.

Education is a priority with our clients, but many face the education funding requirement at the same time they need to have a plan for retirement. Our timeline approach to planning helps them prioritize their objectives in this regard.   

Many of our clients are self-employed as a result of having been downsized in the 80’s and 90’s. In these cases, financial planning goes beyond the individual and might include a plan for efficient transfer of their small business assets.

Client Profile #1 – Busy Executive Let’s assume the scenario of a healthy 45 year old executive. It could be a male or female. This person already has an attorney, accountant, insurance agent, and an investment advisor. But this person has no time to plan given the demands of a consuming career. Our role as the planner is to help prioritize short term objectives and use them as stepping stones to bridge the gap between today’s actions and longer term goals. More »    

Client Profile #2 – Dependent Care A 42 year old client loses a parent and now has assumed responsibility to care for the 70 plus year old mother. Mom may already have an attorney, accountant, insurance agent, and an investment advisor. In this case, our role as the financial planner is to help coordinate the information sources and assist the client in describing and documenting assets, liabilities, strengths and weaknesses.
